About the cabins
The Experience
People come for lake cabins two blocks from Boat Ramp #17, covered porches, picnic tables, and BBQ pits. It is a quiet Hill Country base between Austin (~55 mi) and San Antonio (~45 mi). These are white pine log cabins, not a gated resort with a front-desk lobby. Book online or call; the office confirms every stay.
Whether you want a couples getaway, a family weekend, or a small group on the yard, the lake and the ramp do most of the work. Bring towels and toiletries. Sheets and pillows are included.
The Place
You leave the interstate and take FM 306. The property is a cedar-cabin yard on that road. Park at your cabin. Boat trailers fit in the yard when you bring one. Stays are spread across the yard. It is a cabin yard, not a hotel hallway.

Walk or roll two blocks to the public ramp at Jacobs Creek Park. Comal County runs it. When the county has the ramp open, there is no launch fee. Drought, flood, and park work can close ramps. Check the county before you trailer a boat.
This is not a 24-hour guarantee. It is a short walk when the park is open.

Canyon Lake is the reason people stay here. Fish, ski, or sit on the bank. The cabins are white pine logs with covered porches. The lake does the rest.

About four miles from the cabins you reach the river bend people call the horseshoe, plus Whitewater Amphitheater and the outfitters on that stretch. Tube days and concert nights fill the road. Plan extra time on those weekends.
How far from the cities
San Antonio is about 45 miles. Austin is about 55. That is a Hill Country drive, not a downtown hotel. Groceries and gas sit on FM 306 and the Canyon Lake commercial strip. Gruene, New Braunfels, and the river towns are the usual day runs.
